This was cool until I heard the *CLATTER CLATTER CLATTER* of the Diesels.

love me a TD5...better than seeing a plume of white coolant smoke from a 100K mile plus V8! Also that girl could use some warming up

As much as i'd like to see quad turbo W16s in these kinds of vehicles (would be fucking hilarious), it wouldn't be very effective.

I know, I know. I just come from petrol V8 stock is all (dad's Jeep and my Jeep run V8 engines).

I'll bet you she'd be rather happy about any sort of warming up after that. Ice on water = cold, and while us vikings don't complain that much, I bet she was cold after taking a dip in said water ;)

Since God bestowed the gift of American crossplane V8 engines to the world :3

I'm not sure if serious or troll.

I LOVE huge american V8's, but they don't work up here when it comes to this type of driving. We need torque on low RPMs, we need an engine that's not dependent on electric ignition, and we like engines that don't drink fuel like there was no tomorrow. A diesel does all that, an american gasoline V8 can do none of that :)

Meh, i don't mind the diesel noise in this kind of vehicle. My jeep's a diesel too, and it does it just like this. The idle also doesn't change while climbing a 40% incline.

As far as off-roading goes:

- The V8 sounds amazing and you get all the bragging rights with it

- The diesel just gets it done without any effort

I'm trolling of course, but let me take the glowplugs out of your diesel and that intercooler and turbo off of it and let me know how well it works :P

:P fair point, but put a snorkel on a diesel and it can pretty much survive under water for quite some time ;P

But yeah, gasoline V8 = AWESOOOOME in mudding and rock bouncing. But not when it comes to what we do up here :)

Or.. well.. we DO have Formula Offroad, but that is mainly an Icelandic thing.

You'll like this then, well the crash itself isn't that much, but read what that crazy Norwegian bastard says about how he felt :P It's in the subtitles.

I must admit that I kinda sorta perhaps love Tim Camerons buggys slightly more :P But Formulia Offroad is cool as a cucumber, and even more so in real life :)
